If you happen to be in Mar de las Pampas full moon you can not miss the night rides, for which in high season I recommend you book in advance your horse as they are in high demand.
EXCURSIONS TO THE LIGHTHOUSEOne of the options to arrive at Faro Querandí is by joining a guided onto trucks or vans 4 x 4 excursions.
They include stops at the largest and clearest dunes for sandboarding area. Even if you have your board, companies that take you like they proeverán.
This is an ideal place to take amazing pictures of pristine beaches, huge dunes, open sea snails, sea gulls, oystercatchers ride and, of course, the lighthouse.
The return trip, including stops, takes about 3 hours and we recommend that at all times of year bring sunscreen and windbreaker.
Surely by now you'll want to know more of Faro Querandí: the first building erected in today's match Villa Gesell between 1921 and 1922, to replace the mark of the same name that would have been installed at that location in 1916. It measures 54 meters high and became operational on October 27, 1922 while still in service, in charge of the Argentina Navy and the Naval Hydrographic Service. It has 276 steps and is painted with six black and five white stripes. At the time of its construction the surrounding landscape was only virgins and mobile dunes, shortly after 4 ha were afforested to preserve the structure of the tower.
Also in 1996, the Municipality of Villa Gesell creates Querandí Faro Municipal Nature Reserve to preserve the ecosystem of coastal dunes in its natural state. This reserve is one of the multiple use reserves calls where those activities do not affect the natural, such as scientific research, tourism and education medium is allowed. It has an area of 5700 hectares and stretches from the town of Blue Sea to the southern limit of the Party of Villa Gesell, with small Sea.
BEACHES WALKING ON LARGE CUATRICICLOSIn Mar de las Pampas per day you can rent ATVs to explore the area on your own or joining guided to Faro Querandí and Cariló crossings.
In both cases we remind you that you should wear a helmet and goggles (provided by the cuatris who rent) and follow the safety rules you indicate.
If you decide to rent a quad bike for free use you should consider that on the beach you can move only in the permitted areas, on the streets of Mar de las Pampas you have to respect the maximum speed of 20 km per hour and it is important that always you avoid making any noise excessive to avoid disturbing other people and animals.
In the event that you decide on the guided cruises you only have to worry about follow instructions and be knowledgeable guide at the scheduled time.
The exit to Faro Querandí is an unforgettable experience, in full contact with nature and history of the place. It takes about 3 hours and arrive at Faro touring the highest dunes in the area.
The cruise lasts a little less Cariló, about 2 hours, and is an amazing journey that culminates in the reserve.
